Mihimihi - Greeting












Tēnā koutou katoa
Ko Kestor te maunga
Ko Teign te awa
He waka rererangi te waka
Ko te Moana-nui-ā-Kiwa te moana
Ingarangi ahau, engari,
nā ōku waewae tipi haere ki ngā whenua maha
kua tau ki Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa
Kei te Pokapū Ako ahau e mahi ana
Ko Jennie Swann taku ingoa

Greetings to you all
Kestor is the mountain I identify with
Teign is the river
I am from England but I have travelled through many lands and met many people and now I live in New Zealand
The ocean which means the most to me is the Pacific
I work at the Centre for Learning and Teaching at Auckland University of Technology

  1. Thanks for the Maori welcome; New Zealand is easily the most beautiful, magical lands I have visited (I was at AUT in September). We welcome your mountain, river, and ocean to DML Commons.

    I think I came to at least one of your workshops last September. Enjoyed myself, especially with the improv vampire story - even if I was lousy at the improv bit! Looking forward to the course :)
